Fireballs

There are times when I wonder why the safety-concerning USA supplies 120 AC volt (the electrical we get from outlets for lamps and stuff), when it's 240 AC volt in other countries.

Well, I think I found the reason by accident years ago. Even through we have 120 AC volt for most things, we althrough have to use 240 AC volt for the washing and drying launday machines. I was fixing a dryer when I once forgot to unplug the unit and got a biggest fireball I ever seen up close. If my finger was another inch closer to the fireball source, I might be a goner. 9_9 I am an idiot sometimes.

All of those fireball accidents however taught me how to make colorful fireballs.

1) I recommend a thin iron board.

The colors, I believe were mainly from the temperture of the fireballs. I however think the temperture can be "controled" with certain types of boards.

For white fireballs (hottest ones)--the metal needs to be pure and clean--no paints on it.
For yellow fireballs--a little "natural" rust might do the trick.
For green or blue fireballs ("coolest" ones)--I figured that the type of paint coat as found on house appliances such as microwaves and fridges have the characters that lowers the fireball's temperture--and I won't be suprised, given what those appliances do.

2) Place the board somewhere besides on yourself or any other humans.

3) Attach one of the two wires of the plug cord to the board.

4) Warp something iron to the other wire.

5) Be careful to not let these two iron bodies touch each others--or anyone! when plugging the unit.

6) Pick up the wire containing a bit of iron wrapped around the end. (I never wore gloves, but you might will like to consider this opiton.)

7) Have the bit of iron end touch the iron board.

For tennis ball to large orange sized fireballs--use 120 AC volt.
For volleyball to basketball sized fireballs--use 240 AC volt.

8) Don't try this at home. In other words, I strongly advice people to not follow my example. I am a terrible role model, who blew up a number of electrical experiments. It can be fatal.
